Prats Janer was born in Monistrol de Montserrat (Barcelona) in July 1916, at age 21 is mobilized by the army during the Spanish Civil War. At the end of it, from 1939 to 1942, fulfilled his military service in Galicia, Pontevedra province, where fascinated by the natural landscape of the land, begins to make little notes watercolor of great beauty for its spontaneity and color scheme, reflecting the different sites its journey through the cities of Pontevedra, Vigo and other rural villages and the many estuaries of the coast.

Upon completion of this vital period, developed the trade of painter decorator, combining it with the realization of his artistic work, especially given the natural notes, a pen, charcoal and watercolor, high technical correction, and where everyday life is reflected of those post-war years between 1940 and 1980.

In the mid-eighties, is left alone, fell ill and abandon the practice of drawing he loved during his lifetime, died in a nursing home in Barcelona in 2001, at age 85.

Prats Janer was a lively artist made himself haunted by the picture that ended up setting a chronicle of his time by endearing images of that time, and now we can remember in work.
